Position Description

SUMMARY

As a Registered Nurse - IGH Faculty, your ability to monitor and interpret the outcomes of education programs, combined with your superior leadership capabilities greatly enhances the implementation and learning environment of academic and clinical courses.

STATUS: Per Diem

LOCATION: Wegman Center for Workforce Development - 1630 Portland Ave

DEPARTMENT: Isabella Graham Hart School of Practical Nursing

SCHEDULE: As scheduled

ATTRIBUTES

  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of previous medical/surgical experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of teaching and leadership experience preferred
  • Strong analytical, computer and communication skills
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Curriculum Development. Use a variety of strategies to assess and evaluate learning and to enhance the teaching-learning process; participate in curriculum design and evaluation of program outcomes; ensure that the curriculum reflects institutional philosophy and mission, current nursing and healthcare trends and community needs; revise curriculum based on assessment of program outcomes, learner needs and societal/healthcare trends
  • Leadership. Function as a change agent and leader; promote innovative practices in educational environments; integrate a long-term, innovative and creative perspective into the nurse educator role; implement strategies for organizational change; facilitate learner development and socialization; engage in effective advisement and counseling strategies that help learners meet their professional goals

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Master's degree in Nursing is preferred; or Baccalaureate or Associate's degree in Nursing with proven matriculation in progressive education programs; or equivalent experience.
  • Between 3-5 years of previous med/surg experience, minimum. A minimum of 2 years teaching and leadership experience preferred
  • Strong analytical, computer, and communication skills

Required Licensure/Certification Skills:

  • RN Licensure in New York State
