Position Description

Position Summary:

The position of Manager, Employee Health Services will assist in the development of Employee Health Services Department policies and procedures, including clinical protocols and medical compliance programs as required and regulated by government agencies. In addition, the Manager, EHS will be responsible for the direct supervision of staff and coordination of the Employee Health Services across the entire Rochester Regional Health System. The Manager, EHS will provide accountable leadership to staff through coaching, mentoring, and role modeling to achieve the highest quality care in a safe, cost effective and customer focused environment; and will exercise considerable judgment in applying professional knowledge in solving nursing problems within established policies and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides appropriate leadership, discipline and corrective action when necessary while supervising staff in their day-to-day activities.
  • Makes recommendations regarding the hiring, training, and retention of the nursing staff. Conducts performance appraisals on assigned personnel.
  • Ensures assigned staff complies with all licensing, credentialing, employment qualifications and scope of practice protocols.
  • Interpreters RRH policies and regulations to staff members, patients, and visitors and insure conformance.
  • Acts as a clinical expert and resource to clinical and non-clinical staff.
  • Provides comprehensive orientation for new hires as well as ongoing feedback and training.
  • Coordinates staff development for training and continuing education with the Director of Employee Health Services.
  • Performs all duties of RN as needed.
  • Attends special committee, department and in-services meetings when scheduled and/or required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing with three years professional nursing experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Employee Health/Occupational Health experience and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to determine appropriate course of action in more complex situations.
  • AbilityRequired Licensure/Certification Skills:
    • Current New York State Registered Nurse License.
    • Current BLS certification.
